Girls Soft Ball (Y5-8)

The Girls Soft Ball grade is for girls in school years 5 to 8 The league plays on Sunday afternoons from 1pm. Pairs cricket format is played and games take approximately 90 minutes..

The team practices on a designated evening and has a dedicated coach as well as support from the Cricket Wellington Young Leaders women. This ensures girls are learning to play properly in a fun and supportive environment.

Because this league plays on Sundays, girls can choose to play Saturday morning (mixed) cricket as well.

2023/24 Key Dates

  • Women’s Division 1 – Saturday, 21 October
  • Women’s Division 2 – Sunday, 22 October
  • Women’s Division 3 – Saturday, 11 November
  • Girls Hardball – Saturday, 11 November

Girls Hard Ball (Y7-11)

The Girls Hard Ball grade is for girls in school years 7 to 11. The Girls grade is played on Saturday afternoons from 2.00pm during the cricket season and competes in Pairs, T20 and 30-over format.

This year, KCC will partner with several other suburban clubs to provide this opportunity for as many girls possible.

KCC is committed to providing dedicated coaching, technical skills training and leadership skills for on and off the field. Practices will be held both centrally and locally (TBC).

Because this league plays on Saturday afternoons, girls can choose to play Saturday morning (mixed) cricket as well.

Women's Division 2, Division 3

New to Karori Cricket Club is our Premier Women's side who are playing in the Cricket Wellington Women's Division 2 grade in a composite team, along with Brooklyn, Eastern Suburbs and Vic Uni Cricket Clubs. This side is made up of talented young cricketers who have come through junior girl's cricket and who are looking to step up to senior cricket.

Boasting a number of Wellington age group representatives, this side is one to watch out for, and has aspirations for promotion to Division 1 in years to come.
